Carisma School on "proton transport mechanisms", joined with Carisma Workshop on "Ionomer Membranes for Medium and High Temperature PEM Fuel Cells", Stuttgart.
08 & 09 November 2007 (school)
12 & 13 November 2007 (workshop)
14 November 2007 (Daimler Chrysler facilities visit & Lunch)

  Description

A joint School and Workshop will be held on proton conducting membrane materials jointly organised by the Carisma work-packages "High temperature Membranes" and "Proton transfer mechanisms" dealing, amongst other topics, with fundamental considerations in the design of membranes for PEM fuel cell application, consideration of proton conduction mechanisms operating in low relative humidity environments, characterisation of proton conduction and other properties, deliberation of current approaches and strategies to the preparation and characterisation of ionomers and membranes for operation at the medium and high temperatures required for stationary and automotive application, and membrane lifetime and stability issues. Proceedings of the workshop will be published as a topical issue of the journal "Fuel Cells" (published by Wiley). There will be no registration fee.
This joint school and workshop will be held in the Stuttgart area, and will include a visit of Daimler-Chrysler's Fuel Cell vehicle development facility.
